Weeknotes - 2025-W23

A random poster I found on my walk this week. Maybe its something we all need to tell ourselves - “You are enough”A random poster I found on my walk this week. Maybe its something we all need to tell ourselves - “You are enough”

This week, I finally dragged myself outside of the apple bubble and moved back to Android 💃🏾. With the Google Store launching in India, I got a massive discount on the Pixel 9 Pro XL and got it for ~ ₹ 37,000 after exchanging my iPhone 13.

I felt very held back in the IOS system and am very glad to be out of it. Android feels like home. I can side load whatever I want to and customize however I want to. Maybe I will write about the customizations sometime.

But having spent over 2.5Y in IOS, I could notice a lot of small things that IOS has gotten right. These are things that I thought were obvious but Android still doesn’t have them. I am making a note of all of it and hope to write a blog post about it soon, so keep your 👀 out.

In one of the previous weeknotes, I mentioned that wasn’t a fan of the traditional gym setup. I think it just doesn’t work for me any longer. And since then I have been looking for alternatives.

This week, I finally started at The Base. The teaching is exactly what I want from a strength & conditioning setup. It is a semi personal training situation where you work with a coach and they take a keen interest in what your goals are. Then plan is drafted as per your goals, mine being able to run long & strong.

The coach I’m working with seems to be really strong and I can’t wait to work more closely with him, to be able to get stronger.

💪🏾 let’s go!

The Lego x One Piece was announced this week and I am super excited for it. Now I just need to find a mule from $Where ever$ to bring it down for me. Or maybe I should wait till it comes to India.

Lego was the solace in my life growing up and its where I think I learnt how to build things that were in my head. Maybe that’s why I ended up building software? 🤷🏾

We watched The Diplomat this week. I found it to be a very well made movie in the genre of patriotic” movies which are unnecessarily jingoistic and often don’t focus on the real story. Recommend.

Prasanna and I went on a nice Saturday morning brunch date at Coffee Trotter in Kotturpuram. I really love their french toast and scones. Their cold brew is top class as well.

I caught up with a friend that I made via GCPP who has moved into a policy x tech position (a place I too want to eventually get into). It was a wonderful conversation and its always nice to make new friends who you share interests with. Its even more awesome when you realize that you both were in the same town during school and met so many years later, in a random policy course. Such (beautiful) randomness :)

Prasanna and I spent the remaining part of the afternoon working on some upcoming secret awesome merch for her brand - Sundarakala. If you like her work, and want it on medium other than prints then please hit follow on her page. Its coming real soon :)
