Weeknotes - 2025-W35

Nothing to beat a hot south indian filter coffee in the morningNothing to beat a hot south indian filter coffee in the morning

Sigh. I didn’t expect that I’d miss a week - but it is what it is. I’m writing this on 7th September (the end of w36). I’m not going to take it too hard on myself - I feel its OK to slip off the wagon sometimes, and then you realize why the wagon was essential in the first place. So, now we’re back.

Note: I will write as if I wrote it on the 31st of August.

Dear friends of ours got us hooked on to the NYTimes games - specifically crossword mini, wordle and connections. Prasanna and I have been enjoying playing it a lot. Connections feels the hardest of the 3 games though - such esoteric ways to bring 4 words together - but that is the game perhaps.

We share the daily progress in the group and it feels like a conversation starter on some days, and just a hello-im-still-here-and-alive thing on other days. I’m so happy it became a thing.

A large part the week went in 2 festivals - Gorwri habba and Ganesha habba. Both of which we spent at my parents’ place. Ganesha has always been a fun festival at my home and my memories of it are very fond and dear. Despite being an atheist myself, I really enjoy these festivals specifically because it is one of the few (if not the only one) where I see my parents laughing for really silly things and it makes my heart grow fonder.

✨ HIGHLIGHT ✨

We booked tickets to Lollapalooza! LINKIN PARK IS COMING! LP has been one of my most favourite bands growing up and has helped me wade through many many dark nights in my life. I am absolutely pumped to be seeing them perform live in Jan 2026 and I just cannot wait for that day to come sooner.

From growing up with their music, to watching them live — what a journey it has been.

A lot of the week went in making slides for my upcoming talk at PyCon India next week - Know Thy Packets. I am really looking forward to this, because it gave me the opportunity to work with a friend who I’ve been co-organizing the Chennai Python user group meetups with. I learnt so much from building these slides with him and I am really pumped to see the kinds of discussions that come out from the talk itself.

I’ll end the weeknote here, as I’ve lost much of the “feeling” of the past week and can’t capture it 1 week after - maybe Monday is truly a reset. Also goes to show how much of the feelings around the happenings of everything, that I forget. And reinforces why these weeknotes are a great idea for me - personally. Because they help me externalize the emotions that I can come back to.
